"New Orleans is
rebuilding, but its enduring pulse and resilience is found in the
expression of literature,
music, art, and traditions steeped in a culture as rich and old as the
city itself."

Raising A
City...
It Takes a Village to Raise a City
New Orleanians love New Orleans. Passionately. The New
Orleans Hope and Heritage Salon members suggested that we do
a media project to transform the negative image that many
people have of our city and her citizens. I thought it would
be difficult to get people to contribute to the project.
Instead, every person involved -- authors, photographers,
musicians, the sound recordist and graphic editor -- all
donated every bit of their work because they wanted to help
rebuild New Orleans.
Together we have managed to manifest this project on a
budget of zero dollars in a city where the lights have gone
off every few days, where the mail was not delivered and the
phones haven't worked.</p>
This is our gift to New Orleans, our home.
It is also a testament to the power of the human spirit.
If you would like to make a donation to the New Orleans Hope
and Heritage Project, please contact
Sallie Ann Glassman or call:
